Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services

Clear Sky's Sunshine Station was established to assist individuals developmental disabilities live their best lives while providing a supportive structure for their families. We are committed to providing caring staff to help each individual to not only meet but to exceed life goals through this program.

AFLs are offered by support-need levels in a residential setting to enable the active participant to enjoy life at its fullest, in the least restrictive environment. Support for the individual is provided throughout the day and night on a daily basis, since the person is living in a residence with supportive staff. The residential location must be the primary residence of the AFL provider. The AFL provider receives reimbursement for the cost of care. There can be up to three individuals in one residential home.  The state of North Carolina outlines the rules and regulations of these homes, and whether they are licensed or unlicensed. Respite may be available for the AFL provider. 

Community Networking services are provided for individuals to access their community and its services and activities, along with non-disabled individuals.  This service helps to provide social integration with other members of the community.  It may entail adult education, time management, development of skills for hobbies or cultural and leisure activities, volunteer work, after school programs, and utilizing transportation. 

We are excited to offer Company sponsored events and activities.  These may include picnics, bowling outings, a day at the park, Halloween costume parties, holiday events, or any number of possible things.  Along with supporting our individuals, we believe it’s important to enjoy life.  We love getting together and spending quality time with one another. 

Day Supports is a group, facility-based service that provides assistance to the individual with acquisition, retention, or improvement in socialization, and daily living skills.  Individuals  who qualify can receive these services both within a licensed, structured, physical day program setting and within the community. These opportunities are provided to help the beneficiary have a meaningful day within the least restrictive environment. These services may include pre-vocational activities, such as task completion, attention span, or attendance, as examples.
